Can students use a calculator, scratch paper, or notes on their certificate exam?

In order to create and maintain a positive testing environment for all students, we recommend having students leave all non-testing materials out of the testing environment. Students should not need any additional materials other than some type of internet accessible device.

For exams that require calculations, a basic calculator is included in the exam platform. If a calculator is not provided, the school may provide a basic, non-graphing calculator. Students may NOT use any other type of calculator. (i.e. phone, internet, etc.)

Scratch paper may only be used when provided by the proctor and collected at the end of the exam. Proctors are responsible for properly discarding any used scratch paper.

All other preparation materials and personal effects (including but not limited to, notes, textbooks, electronic devices, phones, calculators, purses, and translation devices) must be left outside of the testing area, unless specifically noted or authorized by YouScience.
